In November I attended my first miniature show. Overwhelmed was how I'd describe it. So many beautiful and tiny objects--from bread to flowers to rugs. While I was tempted to buy several items, my "rule" at shows is to invest in tools that allow me to create, rather than purchase a finished product.

One table was quite a mishmash of items. It turns out the items for sale were from the collection of a woman who is now in a nursing home. A plastic bag with a partially finished quilt as well as directions and pieces to make several more caught my eye. I snapped it up. The directions were from a 1987 issue of Nutshell News magazine were for a woven quilt. Simple and doable. Here's my first try at it. Now to keep experimenting with the concept!
